Walter Lee Barnes Jr. was born in Cleveland Ohio. The son of musicians Rev. Walter Lee Barens Sr, and Pastor Odell Drake, he started singing and playing drums at age 3, lead guitar at 7, and  bass guitar at 9. He attended local music institutions,youth christian groups, and the world renown "Singing Angels", where he learned to read,perform and compose music. In 1997 he graduated from the Cleveland School of Arts,and in 1997-1999 went to Morgan State University, where he studied and majored in instrumental music, and minored in vocal performance. From High to present he played with local bands, Revelation Band, Hubb's Groove, Tony Pullizi Trio and childhood gospel group All God's Children aka. Men of Ministry to Kenny Burrell, M.S.U choir, The Golden Gospel Singers,Layla Hathaway,Frank McComb,Gerald Levert,Levert,Musiq Soulchild, Brian Mcknight, Pieces of a Dream, Anthony Hamilton, Kim Burrell, Walter and Tramaine Hawkins, and Richard Smallwood. Currently Walter plays, and records for different churches, bands, and teaches private drum, guitar and bass lessons at Cleveland's inner city arts center Rainey Institute. Walter just finished the season with the new hit show MTV's  P Diddy "Making His Band", as One of three finalist" Bass Player". Barnes goal is to continue practicing the motto that he preaches"What comes from the heart reaches the heart!"
